All students have to do is to purchase textbooks with a total value of £40 or more from a participating bookshop between 1st September (earlier in Scotland) and 31st October 2007. Then they can claim an ‘experience’ – from a choice of 34 activities in three categories.

The ‘experience’ can be claimed at any time over the twelve months following the purchase. This is how it works:
• Student buys textbooks to the value of £40 and receives a leaflet describing the promotion.
• With her till receipt to hand, she logs on to www.activateyourself.co.uk.
• She chooses her preferred activity and completes the booking request form.
• Once the booking is processed, she will be sent a voucher to hand over to the venue when she arrives.

All of the activities in the promotion are available nationwide. Inevitably, there are some limitations arising from the number of potential providers for each. For example, there are relatively few locations for wakeboarding but there are more than 1000 beauty therapists taking part.

There is some ‘small print’, but these are the main points:
• The voucher is valid for one person and one experience only.
• There is a limit of one promotional booking per customer.
• Only one voucher can be used per venue.
• Only one voucher can be used per ‘group’ booking.
• Vouchers are valid for bookings made until 30 September 2008 and activities taken by 31 October 2008.
